Adam McTighe, Psy.D.
Dr. McTighe is a Licensed Psychologist (CA, GA, PA, and Fl) as well as PsychPact states (such as Maryland, DC, and surrounding areas). In nearly 20 years in the mental health field, Dr. McTighe has worked, trained, and supervised in multiple settings (e.g., inpatient, outpatient, residential, community, academic, forensic, and business). He provides individual and family therapy to children, adolescents, and adults as well as comprehensive assessments. Dr. McTighe believes in the power of resilience and self-empowerment. You are the expert on you; he is there to help you back to where want to be or help move you to where you want to go.
Dr. McTighe’s areas of expertise include issues related to autism/development, anxiety, mood, attention/executive functioning, relationships, work/career, trauma, and formal thinking disorders. Treatment is patient-centric and may include multi-contextual forms of homework, exercise, reading, etc. Dr. McTighe’s doctorate and primary theoretical orientation is Cognitive-Behavioral (CBT). He also has a master’s degree in psychodynamic therapy and often integrates other evidenced-based practices. In addition, Dr. McTighe is credentialed as a National Health Service Psychologist, so his practice is comprehensive and incorporates more than just thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
Dr. McTighe earned his Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) degree in Clinical Psychology from The Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2014. Previously, he earned a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University in 2006. Dr. McTighe also earned a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from St. Joseph’s University in strategic healthcare and financial management (2012) in addition to his dual undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Philosophy from the Pennsylvania State University in 2004. Dr. McTighe’s training experience include the Devereux Foundation and Carson Valley Children’s Aid (Doctoral practicum), Edison Court, Inc. (Internship), and UCSF Children’s Hospital (post-doctoral Fellowship, Department of Psychiatry) in 2015. Dr. McTighe is recognized as an expert in psycholegal issues in both adult and juvenile State and Federal court as well as a Subject Matter Expert on physician empathy, patient satisfaction, health equality and Serious and Persistent Mental Illness.
In addition to clinical assessment or treatment needs, Dr. McTighe is available for consultation and or services for issues related to adult or juvenile criminal and civil forensic matters as well as Veteran Disability evaluations.
